Over the course of 2017 Small Strides CIC has been fundraising to be able to offer free places on their 6 week horse care courses. The course runs for 2 hours per week with a min of 4 or max of 8 children. We have raised enough funds to provide 8 places fully funded. We are also offering a further 4 places part funded. Below is some information on the aims of the courses along with criteria to meet to be eligible to apply for a funded place.

The aims of the 6 week courses course are;

  • Increase social skills and relationships

  • Teamwork

  • Problem solving

  • Learn new skills

  • Improve confidence & self-esteem

  • Improve concentration & focus

  • Have fun

 

The criteria for applying;

  • Must be under 16 years of age

  • Must have a genuine reason for wanting to attend; social isolation, disabilities, autistic spectrum, mental health, behavior/emotional problems, other additional needs.

  • No previous history of abuse to animals.

  • To not have previously used the service before.

Funding Opportunities 2017

The closing date for applications is 31st July 2017, courses will be aiming to start by the end of September 2017. There will be 8 chosen applicants who will be eligible for full funding and 4 for part funding, which means we will pay half  and your required to pay the remaining balance before the beginning of the course start date.
